Mark 8:27-9:13 – Seeing the Kingdom: A Meditative Musing for Dec 5

…some standing here will see God’s kingdom come with power before you die. – Mark 9:1

Jesus said this just after Peter confessed Him to be the Christ and He Himself first told the Twelve He would go up to Jerusalem to suffer, die, and rise the third day.

Confessing Jesus as Christ, Peter acknowledged Him as the anointed king of God’s kingdom. When Jesus said he would die, Peter rebuked Jesus.  What he confessed was right, but he did not understand what the kingdom is.
