A friend of mine, in preparing to preach a series of sermons on the Book of Acts, put out a request for resources. He sent it to another friend who put the word out to others, but he also included a couple of segments on You-Tube of a retreat in which N.T. Wright spoke on the book of Acts. Wright shows how Acts is the continuation of Luke in telling of what Jesus is teaching and doing in the early church to bring the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises of God to Israel that the whole earth will be filled with the glory of God. His theme is that in the work of the early church, just as the work of Jesus, is to bring the kingdom of God to earth. The church, as the new temple, is where the glory of God is present on the earth.

He sees the book as a powerful presentation of what the kingdom of God looks like on earth. This series of talks is worthy of your attention.
